This is a great time of year to get the best prices for cruising.   Cruise lines are checking their inventory of cabins to try to sell off the remainder for the season.  So if you have been thinking about a cruise vacation, this could be your opportunity

Alaska is usually Sold Out Solid by this time of year, because it is THE most popular area.  It has marvellous scenery, and tours available to explore the Denali Park, and flight-see glaciers.  And here the encouragement is to book early for next year.

Usually there is some hesitation in the Caribbean at the end of summer because of fear of bad weather.  But the cruise ships are forewarned and will take shelter at different island ports.  They are enchanted cities in themselves, and offer a wonderful selection of things to do and no worries.  This is ideal for taking the kids along because they have special programs.

Activities will vary according to the ship, but there are such pastimes as rock climbing, skating, golf practice, dance lessons, trivia games, bingo games, eating and drinking.

Looking for bargains?  Check out the cabin upgrades. Pay minimum price and then cruise

in a much better cabin.  Some of the four day cruises from Florida to the Bahamas are just $400.00 for the ship only – to get there you can drive, or use your Air Miles if you want to save on air fares.

On the other hand, why not pamper yourself.  Book a verandah cabin for the ultimate comfort and privacy.  Nothing beats the feeling of travelling first class.  And cruises are perfect for singles – you can meet and greet, or tuck yourself away with a book.  Some ships will try to find you a same sex companion, and no worries if you want to dance, because that is what dance hosts are for

The Mediterranean cruises are more and more popular because the ports of call are so interesting.  Even if you have been around Europe on a tour bus, there is nothing like arriving by sea to Venice, the French Riviera to Barcelona with an entirely different view on the world.
